Mountain Equipment was founded in 1961 and has been involved ever since in equipping expeditions for the harshest conditions on earth. In fact they have participated in every British first ascent of an 8000m peak and been part of more than 175 Everest ascents by International Mountain Guides and Sherpas as well as equipping unsupported trips to the North and South Poles. They make a superb range of clothing and equipment for all types of mountaineers, not just high altitude and polar specialists.
